Project Immortality is the first-of-its-kind initiative that lets anyone tell their story with nothing redacted or edited.
It has two prime objectives. The first one is to understand future generations of how their families lived. This historically accurate information will provide a proper perspective and a sense of pride in one’s heritage. The second objective is to provide a bigger platform with a greater reach for those who have lived with mental health issues, domestic violence, PTSD, homelessness, LGBTIQ, refugeehood, disabilities, etc. The platform seeks to honor Australia’s veterans and encourages them to share experiences. Project Immortality is developing mobile apps and streaming services to expand the accessibility of this initiative, with a planned launch of the new site in late June.
Project Immortality’s feature category, Salute to Service plans to be a repository of documentary videos to present life stories of serving and retired soldiers from all across the nation. Project Immortality has access to over 2000 stories to date In the protagonist’s own words, the stories will highlight experiences in every major conflict, including the highs, lows, challenges of deployments, accomplishments, effects of service on people back home, and the effort required to assimilate into civilian society. The platform provided by this project honors soldiers and their families and creates an awareness of the good work that the services do during wartime and peace.

As a master storyteller, I get to meet many amazing people. Often, they have such diverse and interesting backstories. The stories they tell are full of a depth and strength of character that needs to be shared, but they go by the wayside because people don’t feel they are worthy of telling. This is a mistake. I have kids of my own, and I often tell them stories of my father, such an amazing man, but I just can’t do him justice, I can’t remember all the amazing things he achieved, and I’ve even forgotten what his voice sounded like. It is, for this reason, I felt Project Immortality needed to be created.”
