Honoring Communications Excellence With New Categories As Pandemic Challenges Remain

By: Issuewire

Springfield, Missouri Jan 17, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Communicators are invited to showcase their best work in the annual Clarion Awards competition presented by the Association for Women in Communications (AWC). For nearly 50 years, the Clarion Awards have recognized the work of the nation's best communicators, including editors, writers, photographers, designers, bloggers, marketing and social media specialists, radio and television producers, and many more. AWC provides over 100 categories to accommodate the wide range of work in the communications field.

The pandemic continued to challenge communicators in 2021. There didn't seem to be a solid time when anything could really return to what is fondly remembered as "normal", but communications remained as vital as ever.  For the 2022 competition, The Clarion Awards has added categories that reflect another uncertain year:

  • NEW: Best Special Event - hybrid. "Virtual" and "In-person" also remain subcategories for Special Events, but in 2021 "Hybrid" emerged as a popular event option.
NEW: In the Online Media "parent" category a new subcategory has been added to accommodate the now-everyday use of video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, etc. There are four subcategories: Education, Entertainment, Business, and Community.
  • NEW: It appeared that communicators in 2021 resolved to write books during the pandemic. Under "Brochures, Customer & Special Publications" we added four sub-categories to accommodate fiction and non-fiction books. Self-published or through a publisher.

The competition is open to all professionals: men and women, individuals and organizations, AWC members and nonmembers alike. Entering your work is as easy as visiting the Clarion Awards entry website.

By taking advantage of the March 15 Early Bird deadline, individuals and organizations receive an entry fee discount and then can take more time to complete their final submission by the April 18 deadline.

Don't miss your opportunity to shine with the best!
