Lewellen | Strebe | Hopper Family Law Group brought on senior attorney Morgan L. Montoya, a family law litigator with a psychology and early childhood development background.

Montoya joins the firm’s Sacramento office of family lawyers led by partner Jason Hopper Esq., representing clients in Sacramento, Placer, Contra Costa, and the surrounding counties in Northern California.

Her advocacy for children’s best interests goes back to her law clerkship at the Children’s Law Center of Sacramento in 2013, where she helped abused and neglected children.

Montoya’s undergraduate degree in psychology with an emphasis in early childhood development from UC Berkley makes her a particularly compelling and effective advocate in child custody and visitation disputes.

Montoya said she takes a genuine and passionate approach to representing her clients, combining their conviction with her confidence, clarity, and professional demeanor in matters in and outside the courtroom.

“My clients often express a myriad of emotions when they first meet with me to discuss their family law matter,” Montoya said. “Pain, disappointment, confusions – it can be difficult wading through heightened emotions while trying to navigate legal matters. I remind my clients that they can take a deep breath knowing I am looking out for their best interest.”

Morgan Montoya’s Previous Family Law Experience

The addition of Montoya speaks to Lewellen | Strebe | Hopper Family Law Group’s dedication to providing their clients with the best representation in Northern California.

Following her work as a law clerk at the Children’s Law Center of Sacramento, she served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Michael Isaku-Begert, a Superior Court judge in San Francisco. While there, she participated in court proceedings and drafted court orders from the Law & Motion calendar, among other duties.

As a law student, she interned for Emley Law Office, LLP in San Francisco, where she appeared on behalf of clients in dissolution of marriage proceedings and child custody/support modification proceedings.

Montoya received her Juris Doctorate in Family Law in 2015 from the Golden State University School of Law and has worked as a family law attorney alongside other family law attorneys and divorce attorneys in Sacramento for the past six years.

“We all experience challenges that at times can feel out of our control,” Montoya said. “I find it rewarding to assist my clients in maintaining control of their own happiness and staying focused on the future that they want to create.”

The addition of Morgan Montoya adds another strong attorney to the professional and knowledgeable team of Lewellen | Strebe | Hopper to help you move confidently into your future despite uncertain times. Whether you are in need of a San Francisco divorce attorney or need expert child custody advice in Sacramento, the Lewellen | Strebe | Hopper Family Law Group has skilled attorneys to meet your needs throughout Northern California.
