Central Coast College of Salinas Introduces Ultrasound Technician Programs

Beginning November 10, 2021, Central Coast College will offer an Ultrasound Technician diploma and degree program. Designed to prepare students for immediate entry-level positions, Ultrasound Technician students learn critical theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on skills through a combination of coursework, clinical labs, and an externship.

Central Coast College of Salinas, CA has announced the addition of new Ultrasound Technician diploma and degree programs, beginning November 10, 2021. Designed to prepare students for immediate entry-level positions in the field, students in the Ultrasound Technician programs learn critical theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on skills through a combination of coursework, clinical labs, and an externship.

Central Coast College offers programs for students interested in training for careers in the healthcare field. CCC’s new Ultrasound Technician diploma program prepares students for immediate entry-level positions in the field and is designed to be completed in as few as 84 weeks. Under the guidance of skilled faculty, students in the Ultrasound Technology program learn critical theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on skills, including how to use specialized and sophisticated equipment. There are five required courses in the Ultrasound Technician program: Medical Terminology; Anatomy, Physiology and Physics; Ultrasound Laboratory, Abdomen, OBGYN and Vascular; and an Externship course.

Upon completion of the program, students receive a Certificate of Completion, Ultrasound Technology diploma, and are prepared for immediate entry-level employment. Graduates of the diploma program may choose to continue their education and training by pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Students who enroll in the AAS Ultrasound Technology program complete additional General Education courses for a total program length of 108 weeks. The UT AAS program enables students to develop enhanced critical thinking skills, greater scientific knowledge, and quality verbal/written communication skills, becoming more well rounded professionals and more qualified job candidates.
