"Team Trump" — the former President's political group — is running ads on Facebook despite Donald Trump's ban from the social network.

The ads started running Monday, according to Facebook's ad library. The Save America group, affiliated with Trump, has spent $3,506 on the ads since June 13.

Many of the ads promote Trump's upcoming "Save America" rally in Ohio scheduled for Saturday, his first since leaving office. Others ask for donations to "STOP SLEEPY JOE" and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Many of the ads link to WinRed, a conservative fundraising platform endorsed by the Republican Party and used by many of its members.

Facebook did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. A company spokesperson told Axios that "President Trump is suspended from Facebook, so he can't post at all. Groups affiliated with the former president are not barred from posting on Facebook, so long as they are not posting in his voice."

Facebook initially suspended Trump indefinitely shortly after the Capitol riot on January 6 due to what it said was a risk of incitement of violence. After asking its oversight board to review the ruling, Facebook announced in early June that it would keep Trump suspended until January 2023.

The company said he could be reinstated at that time "if the risk to public safety has receded."

Trump released a statement after Facebook announced the news, calling his 2-year suspension "an insult to the record-setting 75M people, plus many others, who voted for us in the 2020 Rigged Presidential Election. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this censoring and silencing, and ultimately, we will win. Our Country can't take this abuse anymore!"
