The kitchen and bath designer KRAUS USA has been awarded the iF DESIGN AWARD twice this year. The brand won in the Kitchen category for two of its innovative products.

Port Washington, NY – Kraus USA was recognized as a winner of this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD, for two of it’s newly-designed products. The Urbix™ Industrial Bridge Faucet with ColorSmart™ Technology and The Kore Workstation™ Sink Series with PVD Gunmetal Finish each won in the Kitchen category.

The Urbix™ Industrial Bridge Faucet with ColorSmart™ Technology is one of the first faucets of its kind to reach the consumer market. Featuring a unique thermochromic finish, the faucet body changes color in response to rising water temperatures, alerting users when water is too hot to touch. While providing a bold and captivating design element, ColorSmart™ Technology also serves as a visual representation of water temperature for users with sensitivity to heat.
Serving a function beyond design, ColorSmart™ Technology enhances the user experience by giving a visual representation of rising water temperature. The progression of the color transformation helps users to recognize when water might be too hot to touch. In a time when aging-in-place is a growing trend, ColorSmart™ Technology provides a valuable tool for older adults, as well as young children and others who experience heat intolerance or lack of sensitivity to heat due to a variety of common medical conditions.
The second winning product from Kraus, the Kore™ Workstation Series with PVD Gunmetal Finish expands upon the company's most innovative line of kitchen sinks, to give enhanced design flexibility within the category of stainless steel sinks. Embracing a new generation of forward-thinking home chefs, Kore™ sinks are engineered with an integrated ledge to support sliding accessories. By allowing you to work directly over the sink, this purposeful design enhances functionality and streamlines kitchen workflow, while also saving valuable counter space.
This new iteration of the series adds a touch of color to the world of stainless steel with a PVD Gunmetal finish that gives an ultra-modern appearance. Closely matching the on-trend color of black stainless steel appliances, this finish allows consumers to create a cohesive look in their kitchen while still enjoying the material benefits of stainless steel.

Each year the Hannover-based iF International Forum for Design, which is the world’s oldest independent design organization, accepts design submissions in the categories of Product, Packaging, Communication and Service Design, Architecture and Interior Architecture as well as Professional Concept, User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI).
The 98-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world evaluate the products on the basis of concept, form, function, differentiation, and impact. The competition for the 2021 awards was intense, with almost 10,000 entries submitted from 52 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.
