Keiser University faculty member, Dr. David Bracken of the psychology department’s graduate school, was recently inducted as a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) during their annual meeting.

Fellows are distinguished industrial and organizational psychologists who have made an unusual and outstanding contribution to the field. Dr. Bracken, who has been a member of SIOP for more than 30 years, was given this lifetime appointment due to his outstanding contributions as a scholar and a practitioner. He has published numerous scholarly articles, as well as having contributed to many books in his field.

The recognition from an organization that has been an important influence on my career means a great deal to me,” stated Dr. David Bracken, faculty member of Keiser University’s Graduate School and principal consultant at DWBracken & Associates in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Bracken’s work focuses on implementing feedback and coaching systems for clients, as well as strategic employee surveys, performance management systems, and competency models. He is a well-known as a thought leader for advancing the science of multisource (360 degree) feedback, particularly in its use to create large scale change and to improve talent management decisions. Prolific and widely published, he is the senior editor and a contributor to “The Handbook of MultiSource Feedback” (Jossey-Bass, 2001), and “Should 360Degree Feedback Be Used Only for Developmental Purposes?” (Center for Creative Leadership, 1997). Another recent publication is, “The ‘New’ Performance Management Paradigm: Capitalizing on the Unrealized Potential of 360 Degree Feedback” (People & Strategy, 2013) with Allan H. Church (PepsiCo).

Dr. Bracken has been both an internal staff member and external consultant to varied organizations. As an internal staff member, his experience includes Xerox and BellSouth. As a consultant, he has worked for National Computer Systems, Personnel Decisions Intl, Towers Perrin, Mercer Delta Consulting, Kenexa and OrgVitality. Dr. Bracken received his Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, and Master’s and PhD degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Georgia Tech. He is a Certified Professional Coach from the College of Executive Coaching and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Association for Talent Development.
