Southern Arizona Sister Dude Ranches Place Top 5 in USA Today's 10Best Contest

By: PRLog

TUCSON, Ariz. - March 22, 2023 - PRLog -- Two historic Southern Arizona dude ranches, Rancho de la Osa and White Stallion Ranch, are pleased to announce top five finishes in a national contest by USA Today. White Stallion Ranch finished in third place and Rancho de la Osa placed fourth in this year's USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards contest for "Best Dude Ranch."

A selection of the top 20 dude ranches were nominated by a panel of 10Best travel experts in February and public votes determined the final rankings after one month of online voting by USA Today readers.

Ranking No. 3, White Stallion Ranch is a historic family-run dude ranch on the west side of Tucson, Arizona, bordering Saguaro National Park. The White Stallion has been owned and operated by the True family for over 55 years, and offers a year-round, family-friendly dude ranch experience. Guests can enjoy horseback riding and other outdoor adventures such as rock climbing and fat tire electric bike tours; or relax with resort-style amenities like a full-service spa, fitness center, hot tub and heated pool.

One member of the True family, Russell True founded the historic preservation company Ranch Preservation Holdings, LLC, with partner Jaye Wells to manage additional historic dude ranches within the True Ranch Collection, stewarding their preservation and continuation as active ranches. Rancho de la Osa is one of these ranches among others in Arizona and Montana.

Ranking No. 4, Rancho de la Osa is located in Sasabe, Arizona, along the U.S.-Mexico border and directly adjacent to the 120,000-acre Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge. The historic ranch features a Spanish-style Hacienda and is home to the longest continually operated building in the state, built in 1722 by Jesuit missionaries and now home to the ranch's Cantina. It's played host to many prominent figures throughout the years including politicians, actors and celebrities. Guests can explore the unique high desert grasslands on horseback, UTV or fat tire electric bike; and come back the ranch to relax in rich southwestern charm.
