Find Addiction Rehabs Updates Resources on Finding Help for Kratom Addiction

Boca Raton, Florida -

Find Addiction Rehabs (FAR), a company based in Boca Raton, FL that offers helpful resources on addiction treatment and rehab, has recently released updated information on finding help for kratom addiction. A trio of updated resources have been released, starting with kratom addiction help information. This is followed by an article on the FDA's official advice with regards to kratom. And finally, they present an article on how kratom addiction can result in death.

Kratom is a herbal substance derived from the Kratom tree, which is native to Southeast Asia. It can function both as a stimulant and an opioid and is gaining popularity in the US. This has resulted in many people finding themselves addicted to kratom. Kratom has not yet been listed in any federal schedules for controlled substances but the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has listed it as a Drug and Chemical of Concern because it has been found to be addictive when used irresponsibly. However, most people are not aware of this warning.

Kratom is usually taken orally, in the form of a capsule, tablet, or extract. Some people may prefer to chew the leaves of the kratom tree or dry them so that they can be smoked or brewed into tea. It may also be used as a dietary supplement or as an herbal alternative to other substances that can boost a person’s focus and energy but the FDA has not yet approved any accepted medical use or dietary benefit from it.

Taking small doses of kratom may boost energy and enhance a person’s ability to focus and task-manage. However, taking higher doses can lead to an addiction. Signs of overdose include: drowsiness, tachycardia, coma, agitation, nausea, hypertension, and seizure. Treatment includes medical detox, inpatient treatment, and outpatient treatment. Recovery from kratom addiction may take time and it should be provided in a professional environment to help manage the intense withdrawal symptoms. FAR can help people find the appropriate treatment facilities.

With regards to the FDA kratom statement, there has been no official ruling on kratom and it continues to be legal in 43 states. However, at present, it is on a federal watch list as the FDA plans to take action on what they now regard as a “deadly drug,” in contrast to its previous reputation as a “miracle cure” for opioid addiction. However, the FDA admits that its “hands are tied” since there has been no court ruling yet. Kratom comes from the same family of plants as coffee beans except that it binds to opiate receptors in the brain. Because of this, it can cause feelings of pain relief and mild euphoria. And many people addicted to heroin and opiates have transferred their addiction to kratom.

Meanwhile, there have been 15 recorded deaths resulting from the use of kratom for the period between the years 2014 and 2016. In the majority of these cases, the victim had taken at least one other central nervous system depressant, such as Xanax or alcohol. The truth is there is still a lack of research on the extent of its risks.

Find Addiction Rehabs was created with the main goal of presenting helpful information resources that can serve as guides for people who are interested in finding treatment facilities for addiction either for themselves or for their loved ones. They make available information on their website that is made up of expert articles and guest blogs, which means that it is not the typical directory listing or directory website that simply offers lists of addiction treatment facilities. Rather, the website serves as a comprehensive information center for different kinds of addiction problems and behaviors and the modern strategies for treatment to help those who are suffering from an addiction to get them started on the path towards recovery.
