Windhorse Gallery & Marketplace is set to open its doors for the very first time on Saturday, June 15th, and will be showcasing 10 new original works by internationally renowned artist Clay Rice, along with a selection of works by other local and national artists. Nestled in the heart of Port Royal, SC, Windhorse is poised to become the ultimate destination for art enthusiasts, wine connoisseurs, and lovers of fine craftsmanship.

The Grand Opening will begin with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony by the Town of Port Royal at 11 am, followed by a celebratory event from 11 am to 2 pm. In addition to the gallery show, visitors can enjoy tasty treats from the Lowcountry Lobster Food Truck and lively entertainment by Debbie and the Boys of Summer, with special performances by the singing duo Velma Polk & Penny Smith.
Acclaimed silhouette artist and children's author Clay Rice, recognized in Garden and Gun magazine's "50 Reasons We Love the South Now" brings his unique perspective on art and nature into every piece he creates. Rice, whose work is deeply rooted in his family heritage and personal experiences, draws inspiration from an intimate understanding of wildlife and landscapes gained through extensive field studies.
Clay Rice has long excelled in capturing the delicate details of his subjects, whether they are children posed in a studio or animals observed in their natural habitats. His approach to silhouette art is influenced by his family's tradition, especially his grandfather, who was an adept outdoorsman and a renowned silhouette artist.
