Rio de Janeiro, October 5th , 2012 – TIM Participações S.A. (“Company”) (BOVESPA: TIMP3; and NYSE: TSU), which retains direct control of TIM Celular S.A. and Intelig Ltda., providing telecommunication services nationwide, hereby informs its shareholders, the market in general and other interested parties that:

In reference to the Board of Directors’ Meeting held on May 14th of 2012, in which the members of the Board indicated Mr. Andrea Mangoni as Chief Executive Officer of the Company, we announce that it has been provided with all the necessary authorizations by the competent authorities for the effective investiture of Mr. Andrea Mangoni in said position at the Board of Directors’ Meeting of the Company, on September 26th, 2012.
