TIM Participações announces the CFO and Investor Relations Officer

Rio de Janeiro, January 15, 2009 – TIM Participações S.A. (BOVESPA: TCSL3, and TCSL4; and NYSE: TSU), which retains direct control of TIM Celular S.A. and indirect control of TIM Nordeste S.A., providing nationwide telecommunication services, announces that:

In reference to the Board of Directors’ Meeting held on August 6, 2008, in which the members of the Board appointed Claudio Zezza as Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations Officer, replacing Gianandrea Castelli Rivolta, the Company announces that it has provided the competent authorizations with all the required documents for the effective investiture of Claudio Zezza in said positions.

As a result, as of the present date, Claudio Zezza will exercise the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations Officer.
