Thanks to the exemplary fundraising efforts spearheaded by Junior Advisory Board Members, Charlotte and Julia Krass, who enlisted the help of fellow JAB member, Sydney Bianco, Joshua's Heart Foundation's commitment to service was just kicked up a notch with a new opportunity to extend its service offerings.
NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Dec. 16, 2022 - PRLog -- The little charity can now focus on bigger goals to expand their service with the arrival of their brand-new refrigerated delivery van. For 17 years, Joshua's Heart Foundation (JHF) has been distributing groceries to food-insecure communities throughout South Florida, the Florida Keys, Connecticut, Jamaica, Latin America, Asia, and Africa with a passion for ending world hunger. However. JHF's ability to provide the freshest and highest quality produce and groceries was hampered by limited access to refrigerated delivery options.
JHF is pleased to announce that through the fundraising efforts of several local high school students, it purchased its first refrigerated van. The fundraising campaign was spearheaded by JHF's Junior Advisory Board members, Charlotte and Julia Krass. With the assistance of another member of the Junior Advisory Board, Sydney Bianco, these three high schoolers raised more than $25,000 in donations from local families, organizations, and businesses, including Milam's Market. As part of the campaign, they designed and sold bracelets bearing JHF's logo and tagline 'Stomp Out Hunger' which JHF continues to sell to fund future needs. Their tenacity and commitment to the cause were key to reaching their financial goal, which was used for the van purchase.
The van's first major deliveries are taking place for this holiday season, which includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. "The excitement is palpable, and the shop is abuzz with pride," said Joshua Williams, Chief Changemaker and Founder. "We love seeing the sense of accomplishment our volunteers feel when they set a goal and achieve it in the name of service. As Charlotte, Julia and Sydney embark on the next leg of their personal growth, I am convinced this philanthropic journey will be a treasured lifelong memory," he concluded. The foundation expects the van to bring new opportunities to further serve the community and bring more relief to deserving residents throughout South Florida.
"We were humbled to be an integral part of this major milestone for Joshua's Heart. Having a refrigerated van is a gamechanger when transporting perishable items. We are so glad we're a part of this effort and look forward to seeing the difference it makes for the movement," said Charlotte and Julia Krass.
Over the years, JHF has accepted, mentored, educated, and graduated hundreds of outstanding high school students who have volunteered and fundraised to make JHF's mission of stomping out hunger a reality. Our young volunteers have always banded together to ensure the organization meets its goals and that every heart is touched, felt, and cared for with the dignity and respect all human beings deserve.
Joshua's Heart is looking for young minds to be a part of their global movement seeking to better the lives of the underserved worldwide. To learn more, visit www.joshuasheart.org.
