ECTLC Did It… Two 3000 Sq Ft. Buildings Constructed At A Fraction of the Cost

Thanks to generous donors and the building community, East County Transitional Living Center will celebrate the completion of two dormitory-style buildings with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. The buildings will house over 100 single men and women, opening up 40 rooms for homeless families with children.

EL CAJON, CA - On Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., East County Transitional Living Center (ECTLC) will mark the completion of two buildings with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. The program will include testimonies from program members and a heartfelt thank you to donors — large and small. Also, ECTLC will honor the contractors and construction workers who saw a need to build hope for the homeless and make a difference. Many donated their time, talent, and treasure. The number of kids living at ECTLC will grow from 180 to 250.

WHO: Harold Brown, ECTLC President & CEO, ECTLC Board Members, City of El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells, City of El Cajon Police Chief Mike Moulton, Cajon Valley Union School District Superintendent Dr. David Miyashiro, ECTLC community partners, supporters and volunteers, ECTLC program members and graduates, and Building Hope for the Homeless contractors and construction workers. 

WHAT: On Thursday, October 14, 2021, ECTLC will announce a remarkable achievement — the completion of two dormitories, financed with private donations — NO GOVERNMENT FUNDS. Over 100 single men and women will occupy the new buildings, opening up rooms for homeless families with kids. 

WHY: To expand the capacity of ECTLC and provide more housing for 40 homeless families with children. They will join the safe and welcoming ECTLC community.

Since 2009, East County Transitional Living Center (ECTLC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, has served homeless men, women, and families experiencing the danger and despair of homelessness. The mission of ECTLC is to provide transitional housing and restore lives.
