Jacksonville, Florida Apr 16, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Jacksonville welcomes the first of its kind in the Northeast Florida area. The Jacksonville Athletic Academy (JAA) is a 2-year Junior College athletics program that is based in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Jacksonville Athletic Academy is a college sports program under the National Independent Athletic Association (NIAA). The NIAA is a national organization for an intercollegiate, small college, and trade school athletic programs. Being affiliated with the NIAA allows for trade schools, community, junior and sports colleges a chance to compete for conference and national championships.

JAA was founded by Jacksonville natives and brothers Necho Carroll, and Former NFL player, Nolan Carroll II.

"The Jacksonville Athletic Academy was created because we wanted to provide student-athletes the opportunity to play college sports and continue their education," said Necho. "COVID-19 made it difficult for these players to be scouted and recruited to play at the collegiate level"

JAA's mission is to provide overlooked, under-recruited, student-athletes an opportunity to obtain a college education while continuing to chase their athletic dreams.

"Many student-athletes were affected by the NCAA ruling to give their college athletes an extra year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this has limited the opportunities for the class of students graduating high school.' Said Nolan "At JAA, our goal is to develop our student-athletes to compete at the next level and give them opportunities to be scouted by 4-year NCAA universities."

The Jacksonville Athletic Academy's inaugural football season will start Fall of 2021 and are actively recruiting players to compete for the NIAA National Championship. JAA will also include Men's Basketball (2021), Women's Basketball (2023), Baseball (2022), Men's Soccer (2022), & Women's Soccer (2022).
