Janette Hassan Pimentel, a visual artist with a highly creative approach to art, unveils how she overcame numerous challenges and hurdles to chase her dream. Janette developed an interest in art at a very early age but could not pursue it for a long time because of social pressure and the need to have a proper career.

“Since I was little I had an interest in art, it was my north but I had not discovered it yet, since I was little they give us options of many careers to become a professional,” says Janette. “However, plastic art was not in the common options of my life, for this reason, I graduated as a business administrator, but it was not a great idea. At that time I thought it would be an instrument to give strength to entrepreneurship and not choose to work with the traditional system.”

Janette was also keen to become an entrepreneur and start a business, which she did and in many diverse fields. She achieved professional growth and success, but there was a downside also to it. The emotional rollercoaster journey resulted in Janette suffering from depression. It was after this that she felt she needed to react with a change in attitude and connect with a positive source.

The experience strengthened her, and she began a new journey. It was driven by self-motivation, and she once again turned to her passion for art. It became an instrument for her to help others. She also realized that when a person is passionate about something, they must pursue it with absolute strength and dedication, and the results will be fruitful.

For Janette, the most powerful instrument that helped her evolve was the brush, colors, and canvas. The bright, brilliant, and vivid colors helped her travel from darkness to light. In her every work of art, she captures her experiences and the memories of her journey. She soon became a professional visual artist and through her works, she helps others also discover their talents and passion.
