Ownership of land around Kings Mountain casino project taking shape

In recent months, more than 140 acres of land surrounding the Catawba Indian Nation casino project in Kings Mountain have either changed hands or are in line to sell. All of the land will be owned by LLCs affiliated with longtime casino developer Wallace Cheves, a major Republican donor who has been involved with the Catawba project for years.
