When the billionaire chairman of Salesforce and his co-founders set out to launch the cloud computing giant in 1999, no Silicon Valley venture capital firms wanted to get on board. "I was lucky that I had some rich friends. If I didn't, I would not be able to get the company going," he told TechCrunch.
