7pace Releases Timetracker 4 with New Clients and Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2018 Compatibility

By: PRLog
7pace's third party extension to Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services is now available with a new central tracking engine, also supporting Macintosh and Linux users.
MUNICH, Germany & NEW YORK - Nov. 15, 2017 - PRLog -- Today, 7pace announced the release of version 4.0 of their product, 7pace Timetracker. The 7pace extension has received major upgrades for Application Lifecycle Management with Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. This new version coincides with the release of Microsoft's Team Foundation Server 2018 (TFS 2018) at Microsoft Connect(); 2017, the company's annual event dedicated to developers.

Packed with lots of detailed enhancements and full support of TFS 2018, the new Timetracker software comes with a revised architecture, improving and expanding on the clients of this solution, thus providing a better user experience for software developers.

"Developers can start tracking directly from the work item in Team Foundation Server, add a comment on what they are doing on the desktop client, and then go to a meeting and update their work logs with their smartphone," says Marc Schaeffler, CEO of 7pace. "And the best thing is, all of this is deeply integrated into Microsoft's development ecosystem."

This new functionality is possible due to the tracking engine being moved from the Windows client to the server itself, and equipped with a Client API, allowing third-party companies and teams to create their own solutions that meet their unique needs.

"Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services benefits software developers by helping them collaborate on code and manage workstreams in any language and on any platform," said Shawn Nandi, Senior Director, Cloud Application Development and Data and AI Product Marketing for Microsoft Corp. "We're pleased to see 7pace help customers maximize their productivity with Timetracker 4."

7pace Timetracker 4 for TFS is being released with a new web client, a completely rewritten Windows client, a preview of the mobile client, and is available for download today. The rollout of Timetracker 4 for VSTS to all 7pace customers is ongoing and will be finished November 28th.
