Petrendologist Charlotte Reed’s Ninth Twitter Party Provided Insight and Guidance to Pet Lovers In the Midst of A Natural Disaster
PRLog - Sep. 30, 2013 - NEW YORK -- September’s Twitter Event #GetPetPrepared hosted by Petrendologist Charlotte Reed was unlike any other as its timeliness and relevance was witnessed firsthand through the flooding devastation occurring in Colorado. Within minutes the #GetPetPrepared event had 66 users exchanging 132 tweets in the first nine minutes. Party-goers had witnessed, both first hand and on TV, how natural disasters were affecting pets and their owners in the Colorado area and were eager to share and learn how to #GetPetPrepared.

According to Petrendologist Charlotte Reed, "The 9th in our series of Twitter parties continued to trend and outperform! With more than 1000 tweets and 90 contributors, we trended within 27 minutes of starting the action-packed party. It's exciting to view a community of global pet owners share their best advice and talk about their pets. At my party these Twitterites routinely retweet the tips and advice shared, allowing for thousands more to learn key pet emergency preparedness advice the most concise way possible.”

During the petcentric #GetPetPrepared soiree 103,000 accounts were reached and 1.4 million impressions were made.  Even before the party began the invite had been viewed 1450 times!

Topics during the #GetPetPrepared event included preparing for all kinds of disasters, ranging from natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and forest fires, domestic emergencies, such as home-fires and black-outs, and national emergency events, such as 9/11.  By discussing this wide variety of potential disasters party participants were forced to think about and plan out a detailed plan for numerous emergency situations.  One of the most important parts of the #GetPetPrepared plan that was discussed was having an emergency pet kit and practicing exit strategy for all members of the family to get out of the house in safe and timely manner.

The #GetPetPrepared Event is the ninth in Reed’s series of live, petcentric, interactive sessions. The monthly events hosted by Reed have become the go-to destination for pet lovers, pet owners and sponsors alike. Reed also embarked upon a national radio tour.  She shared her #GetPetPrepared message and tips with a radio audience throughout the country equally as interested and excited to learn as her Twitter party goers.

Reed will be hosting “How Fall Weather Affects Pets"(http://bit.ly/PetsandWeather), her 10th Twitter event on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 (http://bit.ly/PetsandWeather) with a corresponding radio show on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.  For the radio media tour, Michael C. Fleck, DVM of the Animal Medical Center of Bradenton, Florida will be joining Miss Reed; the two will be discussing how changes in fall weather can affect your pet and how to best prepare your dogs and cats for the changing seasons.
