What Is The Difference Between Lab Diamonds and Natural Diamonds
Lab diamonds are real diamonds. They are pure carbon rocks, with identical physical, chemical and optical characteristics to natural mined diamonds. The only difference is how the diamonds originate. Lab diamonds are individually cultivated in a lab and mined diamonds are created in the ground over millions of years.
Both types of diamond begin as rough diamonds, which are then cut, polished and graded according to the 4-Cs. Both types of rough diamond go through the same process to produce a valuable gemstone.olitaire Diamond Engagement Ring Sale

Are Lab Diamonds Good Value For Money
With the price of a 1ct classic solitaire starting at under €2,000, a large single stone solitaire is within reach of even the most frugal newly engaged couples. Lab diamonds tend to be of a higher quality than minded diamonds, with fewer inclusions and a much higher colour grade. This means smaller amounts of a rough diamond lost during the cutting process. These efficiencies mean higher quality diamonds in larger carat weights at significantly lower prices.
Mined diamonds are generally discovered in a round form, which are then usually cut into two round brilliant diamonds. Lab diamonds, on the other hand, are created in rough rectangles, so diamond cutters are cutting more and more fancy shapes to precise carat weights. You will be surprised at how affordable a 2 or 3 carat emerald cut or radiant cut diamond is.
Are Lab Diamond Environmentally Friendly
It is not just the price tag of lab diamonds that is attractive, they are also kinder to the environment. Carbon emissions are a fraction of the output for natural diamond production. Water usage and land displacement are also minimal. Moreover, any concerns about child labour and blood diamonds are irrelevant.
Are Lab Diamonds Certified
Lab diamonds are real diamonds. They are pure carbon rocks, with identical physical, chemical and optical characteristics to natural mined diamonds. The only difference is how the diamonds originate.Lab diamonds are cut, polished and graded in the same way as natural diamonds. Always ask for the certificate that should accompany the diamond.
Ideally, the certificate is generated by a reputable international grading lab like the GIA or IGI. The report number associated with the certificate should be also lasered onto the diamond. Diamond jewellery should never be purchased for its future resale value. But, remember, the value of the diamond is in the cert.
How Are Lab Diamonds Made
Lab diamonds are created in a controlled laboratory environment using advanced technological processes. These conditions mimic the intense heat and pressure required to create natural diamonds.
Lab diamonds are grown in laboratory conditions by two methods. HPHT, which stands for high-pressure, high-temperature, and CVD, which refers to chemical vapor deposition.
In both processes, a diamond crystal or plate is used as a seed to initiate the growth of the lab-grown diamond. Over a period of about six weeks, the diamond grows into a high quality rough diamond.
