-- This new partnership with TriCare will allow the Addiction Resource Center to offer care to active-duty U.S. military personnel through their intensive outpatient program (IOP). As the American Addiction Center, a nationwide coalition of rehab providers, explains, cost is among the top 5 most common reasons that those suffering from addictions cite for not seeking treatment. With this new partnership, the Addiction Resource Center seeks to lower the financial barrier and expand access to these essential programs.

The IOP available through the Addiction Resource Center offers “tailored care for military life”, targeting the root causes of stress that are often responsible for addiction or substance abuse more broadly. Unlike a traditional rehab, this IOP is built around the unique obligations that active-duty personnel must fulfill, while still offering an effective, intensive course of treatment.

Those who choose to enroll in the program will undergo a multi-stage, wide-ranging course of treatment focusing on emotional health and readiness for change. The counselors at the Addiction Resource Center combine the emotional care philosophy of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with the active, client-centered approach of Motivational Interviewing to address deep emotional imbalances and pave the way toward recovery.

Additionally, this IOP offers support and resources to the family and close friends of those affected by addiction. The Addiction Resource Center understands the interpersonal strain that addiction can cause, and they seek to help foster an understanding environment where all voices have value.

In their announcement regarding the new TriCare partnership, a spokesperson stated, “We’ve been helping individuals and families overcome addiction with over 50 years of combined experience in evidence-based care. As a TriCare-approved provider, we are dedicated to serving those who serve our country.”
