“I highly recommend this book if you love a good adventure through time and space.” ~ Literary Titan
Author Andrew Cahill-Lloyd’s awarding-winning children’s book The Visitors is bringing both humor and social consciousness to the science fiction genre for young readers. Teens and older children will appreciate the Dramedy that has been awarded Literary Titan’s Silver Award. Cahill-Lloyd paints religion itself as the antagonist with religious leaders and political leaders continuously placing obstacles in the way of the story’s main characters. The author, focused on teaching younger readers that there are more appropriate and beneficial ways to live, demonstrates that racism, homophobia, and religious entitlement are outdated concepts.
“This piece had good heartwarming messages I think a lot of people need to hear in this day and age.” ~ Literary Titan
About the Book:
The Visitors features two aliens from the planet Aeon, Bjorn and Zorn, who witness the destruction of Planet Earth in 2052. They set out to stop the coming disaster, with the help of a small band of misfits. As they piece things together, they discover a fellow Aeonite, Dorian, is pushing back against their efforts to enable religious zealots to maintain their control rather hypocritically. Bjorn and Zorn begin a chess match with Dorian for control of Earth’s destiny. The story takes place in the current day and spans time to the year 2052. Readers travel to Saturn’s moon Enceladus, as well as the fictional planet of Aeon and visit several locales on planet Earth such as New York, the Middle East, Paris, The Matterhorn, and Australia. They encounter many stressful situations and drama along the way as well some laugh-out-loud moments. Bjorn and Zorn and their earthling friends meet many interesting characters along the way, and they discover a lot about the Universe and themselves.
“The Visitors is a gripping children’s science fiction novel filled with aliens and animals.” ~ Literary Titan
About the Author:
Andrew is a grandfather to 9 girls and 1 boy. He spent over ten years in the Royal Australian Air Force, is a qualified veterinary nurse, and has a passion for animals.
Racism, homophobia, and religious entitlement are major social issues in the world today and a major focus in The Visitors. People hate based on skin colour or sexual preference, and many do this based on their religious beliefs. Their religious beliefs give them entitlement. It is time to take a stand against religious zealots, and the best way is, to teach our children to love all people and accept all people, as friends. To hopefully reach them before they are poisoned with ancient rubbish. That weirdo that no one talks to in the schoolyard might turn out to be a best friend with more in common than they realise.
The book’s publisher had this to say: “Your work was found to be an entertaining and unpredictable science fiction novel, very well-written, that will undoubtedly captivate a large audience. Your ability to frame an amusing cast of characters builds and sustains the story, through a very well-conceived and developed plot. We were impressed by your ability to tackle the sometimes-controversial topics in a respectful and proactive manner. The Board was keen to comment on the dynamic writing style and believes the story has the potential to excel within its genre.”
The Visitors is available on Kindle and in paperback on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
“The humor in this book balanced out the heavier topics and made this an enjoyable rescue mission that didn’t take itself too seriously.” ~ Literary Titan
