Scent of Sound Participates in World Perfumery Congress 2024 for the First Time and Showcases the ICT Integration of K-Scent and K-Pop

Scent of Sound, which started in Gangneung and is leading the fragrance culture content industry, announced that they explored export opportunities by attending the World Perfumery Congress (WPC), held from June 24 to 27 in Geneva, Switzerland.

WPC is an event that gathers industry professionals, including perfumers, fragrance marketing experts, and scent technology developers. The exhibition features various lectures, workshops, booth displays, experiential programs, cocktail parties, and art exhibitions, offering a rich experience of global fragrance culture.

As the first Korean company to have a booth at this prestigious event, Scent of Sound introduced ICT cultural content that combines fragrance and music. The company sent a content planning team to Switzerland to engage in discussions with international business representatives.

As a result, they held export consultations with 73 companies from 32 countries, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

Scent of Sound's 'Music and Scent Concert,' the first of its kind in Korea, and the 'Scent Education Kit,' made of eco-friendly ESG vegan fragrances, attracted significant attention. Additionally, the signature scent of Dongdaemun-gu, launched in May 2024, garnered interest.

The company is in detailed export discussions with 12 businesses, working out contract terms and volume agreements. They plan to start full-scale exports within this year.

Furthermore, Scent of Sound conducted a site visit in Grasse, a renowned fragrance hub in the south of France, to enhance their understanding of perfumery.

Additionally, Professor Kim Byung-hyun, CEO of Cinquième Sens Korea and former head of the LG Household & Health Care Perfume Research Institute, stated, "Scent of Sound is showcasing fusion technology of fragrance and music that resonates with the emotions of the MZ generation through its popularity in K-Culture and its entry into Western European markets such as France and Switzerland, the home of fragrance. New market expansions are anticipated in the future."
