About the Author
Kenneth Ronald Harvey. Born July 25, 1947 in Summerville, SC. Graduated Berkeley High School in 1965. After graduation, he attended Trident Technical College in Chemical Engineering Technology. He served in the USAF from 1966 - 1970 and earned his Pilot’s license.He spent his last year at Phu Cat AFB in Viet Nam. In 1970, he began college again at Baptist College and graduated in 1973 with a BS in Biology and minor in Physics. Married in May of 1973 to Sandy Hudgins. After graduation he worked at the Medical University of South Carolina in the Pathology Department and then in the Lead Poisoning Dept. In 1975 he accepted a job at WestVirginia Pulp and Paper Company in Charleston (later renamed WestVaco Corporation) in the Carbon Department. Later transferred to the Polychemicals Department of the Chemical Division to work in the Agricultural Chemicals Formulation Lab.
His final years at WestVaco were spent in Sales and Marketing and he retired in 2002 as the Product Manager of Business Development. In 2003, he began a second career with New York Life Insurance where he was certified in Long Term Care Insurance, received numerous awards as an Annuity Champion, and achieved the LUTCF designation and retired in 2013.
