Netherlands and Denmark Citizens can now get Indian Visa for Cruise online

India Visa Online is a one-stop portal for getting a visa to India

India is becoming a popular new destination for visitors who like to travel the world by cruise ship. Traveling by cruise ship allows you to see more of this beautiful country than you could otherwise. The Indian Immigration Authority has made it incredibly simple and quick for cruise ship passengers to visit India with Indian e-Visa.

Cruise ships are great for families since you can visit several destinations while just unpacking once and enjoy many beautiful beaches along the way. The Indian government streamlined the immigration process for cruise ship passengers by issuing an Electronic Travel Authority, sometimes called an Indian e-Visa.

To get Indian Visa for Cruise, a traveler needs to understand the Authorized Indian e-Visa Seaports.

For cruise ship passengers with an Indian e-Visa, there are 5 authorized seaports. The cruise ship must depart from and only stop at the ports listed below. Tourists on cruises stopping at sea ports other than those listed below will need to apply for a traditional paper visa to India. You must provide documentation by mail and may be required to visit the Indian Embassy or High Commission.

  • Chennai

  • Cochin

  • Goa

  • Mangalore

  • Mumbai

An India Tourist Visa with a validity of one year is required for more than two stops.

Remember that each stop will require approval at the port by Indian Immigration Border officers prior to your admission with an Indian Online Visa (eVisa India). If your schedule includes more than two stops on the cruise ship, the 30-day Tourist e-Visa for India (Double entrance Visa) is not valid, and you must apply for a 1 year (multiple entries) e-Tourist Visa. Remember that all stops must be at an allowed port of entry with an Indian e-Visa. Contact your cruise line for information about stops in India; it will save you a lot of time and trouble.

Tourists who plan to visit India by cruise ship and only stop at the authorized seaports listed above should apply for an Indian visa online (eVisa India). It is important to note when does 30 days Indian visa expire? If you have applied for a 30 Day Tourist India Visa then you MUST enter India before the "Date of expiry of ETA".

A 30-day e-Visa allows you to stay in India for 30 days starting from the date of entry. Assume the expiration date on your Indian e-Visa is January 8, 2021. This means you must enter India before January 8th, 2021. It does not imply that you must leave India before or on January 8th. For example, if you entered India on January 1, 2023, you can stay until January 30, 2023. Similarly, if you arrive in India on January 5th, you can stay until February 4th. In other words, the maximum period of stay in India is 30 days from the day of admission. In your Indian e-Visa, it is emphasized in strong red letters:

To get Indian Visa for Denmark citizens and Indian Visa for Netherlands Citizens, Tourists, can acquire an India Visa Online before or after booking a cruise ship slot. Because there is no group e-Visa available, each cruise ship passenger must apply for an Indian e-Visa.
