Regulation FD Disclosure.

On May 10, 2013 Ivanhoe Energy Inc. (the “Company” or “Ivanhoe Energy”) issued a press release announcing that allegations contained in a recently filed lawsuit in Vancouver, British Columbia against Ivanhoe Energy, its subsidiaries Ivanhoe Energy Latin America Inc. and Ivanhoe Energy Ecuador Inc. and shareholder Robert Friedland, are false and without merit. The new lawsuit, filed by Cotundo Minerales S.A. (Cotundo), an Ecuadorian corporation, contains allegations about Ivanhoe Energy’s contract on the Pungarayacu heavy oil field, which were dismissed previously in the United States (U.S.) federal court system. A copy of this press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this report.
