          On April 25, 2006, Sterling Financial Corporation (“Sterling”) issued a press release announcing a quarterly cash dividend of $0.065 per share of common stock payable to shareholders of record on June 30, 2006. The dividend is expected to be paid on July 14, 2006. The text of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and incorporated by reference herein.
