     On March 15, 2010, FreeSeas Inc. (the “Company”) announced the addition of Keith Bloomfield to the Company’s Board of Directors (the “Board”), effective immediately, increasing the total size of the Board to six members.

     At a meeting of the Board held on March 3, 2010, the Board approved an increase in the size of the Board by one member, and approved the appointment of Mr. Bloomfield to fill the vacancy on the Board created thereby. The Board vacancy that is being filled by Mr. Bloomfield will be a Class B Board seat that will be submitted to the shareholders for election at the Company’s 2010 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
