Use of Non-GAAP Financial Measures In addition to financial measures presented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles in the United States of America (GAAP), this presentation contains certain non-GAAP financial measures. These non-GAAP financial measures adjust GAAP financial measures, which our management uses when evaluating net income from our core business, capital utilization and adequacy. In addition, we believe that these non-GAAP financial measures facilitate the making of period-to-period comparisons and are meaningful indications of our operating performance particularly because these measures are widely used by industry analysts for companies with merger and acquisition activities.
