On August 22, 2006, Theravance, Inc. issued a press release announcing results from its Phase III program assessing the safety and efficacy of telavancin, a rapidly bactericidal injectable antibiotic, for the treatment of complicated skin and skin structure infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria.
