Broadcom results, outlook breeze past Wall Street expectations, stock ticks higher

Broadcom Inc. shares rose in the extended session Thursday after the chip and software company's quarterly results and outlook surpassed Wall Street expectations and its chief executive said demand was "solid" going into the fourth quarter.
