According to the Canadian Cancer Society, in 2024, an estimated 27,900 Canadian men were diagnosed with prostate cancer, accounting for 22% of all new cancer cases in men. With support from PROSTAID Calgary, warriors and survivors can connect with peers and stay up to date.
These no-cost monthly meetings are open to all. Each session features a medical guest speaker or healthcare professional discussing topics such as new technological developments, treatment breakthroughs, and support strategies. Attendees have the opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others affected by prostate cancer. No advance registration is required, and all are welcome to attend.
In addition to in-person attendance, online attendance through Zoom is available, and all sessions are archived online in video format for those unable to attend in person. Meeting reminders and additional resources are distributed monthly through the organization's Digital Examiner journal.
