FLUX, an affinity group of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) dedicated to creating safe spaces for trans and gender non-conforming individuals through advocacy and outreach, issued the following statement in response to news that the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles will bar transgender people from changing the sex on their driver's licenses:
"We as FLUX, as citizens of these United States and as humans, call on the Government of Florida to immediately stop these unconscionable efforts to eradicate our Transgender and Nonbinary siblings from public life in their home state. To our siblings in Florida and the world. We stand with you. We fight for you. And we will never stop."
