Experts at ISG Digital Business Summit Predict 2022 Will Be the Year of the Value Chain

Industry leaders from Sunbasket, AB InBev, TBM Council, Boston College, Alcon, GM Financial, Microland, Turing and Acadia Pharmaceuticals to speak at two-day virtual event

Experts with Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: III), a leading global technology research and advisory firm, predict 2022 will be the year of the value chain, with enterprise IT and business functions working closely with their partner ecosystems to boost innovation, capabilities and resources.

“Forward-looking enterprises are evolving their DNA by developing value-chain-centric models where business and IT work hand-in-hand, drawing on a strategic partner ecosystem to boost innovation,” said Bill Huber, partner, ISG Digital Platforms and Solutions. “Enterprises need to reimagine their core business architectures and integrate technological capabilities that will change processes from factory floors to operating rooms to trading floors. This only happens efficiently and effectively if IT and business collaborate in new ways.”

Huber will explore the ways value chains can be reimagined for the digital age during a featured fireside chat at the ISG Digital Business Summit, a two-day virtual event, December 1–2.

Businesses need to be agile to act on digital opportunities, said Huber, co-host of the event.

“Operating models that enable access to information on expected revenues, total costs, risks, constraints and dependencies can be a true strategic advantage,” he said. “But they require an adaptive means to update each as new information becomes available.”

Industry leaders scheduled to present at the ISG Digital Business Summit include Brett Frazer, vice president of customer service for San Francisco-based subscription meal delivery service Sunbasket, whose keynote presentation will detail his company's journey to selecting a unifying customer experience metric; and Kapil Apshankar, vice president of digital applications for IT infrastructure services provider Microland, on how enterprises can embark on true cloud-native modernization.

A panel discussion featuring Mike Zill, CAO and CIO of Acadia Pharmaceuticals, and Christopher Witbracht, global director with Anheuser-Busch InBev, who leads the company’s global innovation and technology initiatives, will address how enterprises should prepare for a digital workplace of the future—with smart facilities, connected employees, AI and augmented capabilities. Vijay Krishnan, founder and CTO of Turing, an IT jobs platform that allows enterprises to hire remote software engineers, will address how enterprises can incorporate an intelligent talent cloud to reap the benefits of remote talent.

Kevin Powers, professor, founder and director of cybersecurity graduate programs at Boston College, will join J Schuh, lead design strategist at Sabre, the travel technology company, and co-founder of the UX certification program at Southern Methodist University, in a panel discussion focused on the impact product-aligned delivery and the move to digital products has had on enterprise security.

Additional speakers include Todd Tucker, general manager and vice president of standards, research and education for the Technology Business Management Council; Jeevan Bobbili, head of IT commercial operations and automation for Alcon; Ross Shannon, director, global software operations for Hyosung; Howard Tiersky, CEO of FROM, The Digital Transformation Agency; Vincent Trotter, vice president of client success, National Debt Relief; Nik Jagtiani, head of global martech, LifeScan; Adrian Terry, vice president of IT product and portfolio management, GM Financial, and Rob Dolci, executive vice president of engineering for Enel X. They will join ISG experts in exploring platforms, technologies and practices that can accelerate digital journeys.

The ISG Digital Business Summit is sponsored by HCL, Cigniti, HARMAN Digital Transformation, Microland, Turing and Wipro. CIOReview, CIOCoverage and Desk Yogi are media partners. Additional information and registration are available on the event website.
