Gretchen Bonaduce's Campaign for Mayor of the City of Bisbee Promises Community Development and Revitalization

BISBEE, AZ / ACCESSWIRE / July 22, 2024 / By: Gretchen Bonaduce and Amanda Pressly

My campaign for Mayor of Bisbee embodies the values I represent: community service, collaboration, and hard work to bring positive change. Growing up in Waukegan, Illinois, I furthered my education at Lamson Business College in Phoenix, Arizona in 1986, specializing in travel and tourism.

From a young age, I was active in my community and volunteered at Saint Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha, Wisconsin; at food banks in underprivileged communities; on Easter, by bringing baskets to the children of military officials; at Camp Pedleton, collecting over 100 gowns for women to wear to the military ball; and today, raising money for the Bisbee Fire Department to fund a new fire truck.

When determining a budget for our City, I plan to diligently work with experts and city officials to ensure that we prioritize vital and urgent improvements, looking to alternative funding options beyond raising local and property taxes at a fixed rate. The community deserves an environment that ensures safety, encourages the ability to pursue life and liberty, and fosters economic vitality. In a time where people are living paycheck to paycheck, many may not be able to afford excessive taxes. It must be considered that citizens have less resources than others. The recent decision to deny low-income individuals and families discounts to their sewer and trash fees sets a precedent that we are not considering those in the community in need of support.

My number one priority is serving the community and fostering positive development for core issues our City faces. I truly care about the people who live here and want to see community members and businesses thrive. I feel confident in my abilities to secure funding to invoke real change that will positively impact the lives of our citizens significantly. As an alternative to raising local and property taxes, I plan to utilize my skills in public relations and tourism to drive excitement about the lovely City of Bisbee. Increasing the revenue generated by our City through tourism will alleviate stress from taxpayers, create jobs and help sustain employment, increase cultural vibrancy, encourage infrastructure development, and aid to preserve the beauty of the City of Bisbee.

Priorities of my campaign include: increasing job opportunities, creating affordable housing options for low income individuals and families through the utilization of unused buildings, beautification of and increase of recreational facilities, affordable healthcare, finding a solution for the issue of our homeless community through increasing a commitment to mental health outreach and preventive care, fire prevention, and developing youth involvement in our City.

The role of Mayor calls for a "people person." Upon election, I will serve as a relentless ambassador to the City of Bisbee. I will adhere to my values to promote transparency during my term in office, including what our tax dollars are being spent on. I will be donating my salary as Mayor to the community as a testament to my dedication. A vote for me is a vote for a candidate that will advocate for you!
