On October 22, 2007, Theravance, Inc. issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Approvable Letter for telavancin, a novel bactericidal, once-daily injectable antibiotic discovered by Theravance, for the treatment of complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSSIs) caused by Gram-positive bacteria, including resistant pathogens such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).  A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and is incorporated herein by reference.
